You will learn about different fabrics and fill materials to know what each does and learn what to look out for. We will have plenty of gear and clothing examples for students to inspect and to learn the differences between different types of gear.  This is not the typical, 1-hour gear class taught at most outdoor stores and you will learn to save money, time and heartache.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Are there any refunds, or can I pay for only 1 of 2 sessions?
There are no refunds and, while you can choose to attend all or a portion of the class, the fee is $35 per person. If you register and cannot attend class for any reason, YOU WILL NOT BE GRANTED A REFUND. But we will miss you.
Is there a discount for families or children?
No, unfortunately there is no special pricing for children or families. The cost is $35 per person. Children and youth of many ages have attended the class and have had a wonderful time. We suggest, however, that you are the best judge of whether your child will find the classroom instruction useful.
What do I need to bring?

A notebook and writing utensil are important for all the training classes.  Each class may also have a specific set of required items that will be needed to get the most out of the class. For the Gear and Equipment class you are also welcome to bring clothing and equipment items if you would like us to evaluate those specific items.
Do you provide lunch?

We'd love to but NO, we do not provide lunch, drinks or snacks. Please bring water to stay hydrated and you may wish to bring lunch and/or snacks if you choose. You will have a lunch break and there are many options for grabbing a bite near the venue, or you are welcome to bring your lunch.  Water fountains and bathrooms are located at the facility.
What is different about this class compared to others?
Some outdoor shops will offer in-store demonstrations and instruction that feature the gear they sell. Those instructions are generally limited in scope, and you cannot be certain that the instructors are those who have actually used the gear they are teaching you about! Remember, they are selling you products. We, instead wish to educate you so that you know the right questions to ask to make smart buying choices that will keep you safe and comfortable in the outdoors.
Where is the class held?

The class will be held at Lifepoint Church, 51 Riverdale Road in Ozark, Missouri beginning at 9 am Central. We will give you time for lunch and the instruction typically ends somewhere between 4 and 5 pm.  You will also have time in class and after breaks to inspect all the outdoor gear and clothing that we will bring for demonstration.
